From Sydney
Perisher Valley is a very easy, comfortable 5.5 - 6 hours drive from Sydney, via Canberra and Cooma. From Cooma, drive to Jindabyne, the gateway to the Snowy Mountains. Most people then take the road to Thredbo to Bullocks Flat to catch the Skitube to Perisher Valley.
Usually no chains are reqired to get to Bullocks Flat, but beware of the big dump which might make them necessary. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes from Jindabyne to Bullocks Flat.
From Melbourne
Take the Hume Hwy to Wodonga, then the Murray Valley Hwy to Khancoban, then the Alpine Way to Thredbo. The Skitube Station is another few minutes towards Jindabyne after Thredbo. The drive from Melbourne is about 7 hours, mostly on dual carriageway. The Alpine Way from Khancoban to Thredbo is regarded as one of Australia's most famous, picturesque roads.
At Skitube
Unload your car at the Skitube Station at Bullocks Flat. Trolleys are available, and are taken on to the train. You can then leave your car in one of the many car park areas provided. The train runs frequently during the winter months.
The train trip takes about 10 minutes to Perisher Valley Station. Take the trolley off the train, and it will be placed in a lift to the main station mall area where you can arrange oversnow transport with Hans Oversnow. They will take you and your luggage to the lodge.

From Sydney or Melbourne, you can fly either to Canberra or Cooma. The flight from Sydney to Canberra is about 45 mins, to Cooma is about 50 mins.
Canberra to Perisher Valley takes about another 2.5 hrs by road. Cooma is about another 50 minutes. Rental cars and coach transport are available at both these airports.

They will charge a fee based on the number of passengers and the amount of luggage you have - but it has always been modest, and their service is very reliable. Additional charges apply after midnight.
Bookings are essential for very late arrivals, so make sure you call them if you think you will be late!
