Yeti was launched in the early 1960s by a group of likeminded people who wanted access to a club-style lodge at Perisher Valley.
After initial meetings and fundraising, Yeti was built over the summer of 1962/3. Originally it had around 30 members and today around 180 Yetis, their families and friends enjoy the club.
Yeti Alpine Ski Club aims to provide affordable, comfortable accommodation firstly for its members and guests. Because it is self-catering there is a family atmosphere which promotes co-operation amongst those using the lodge.
Yeti can accommodate up to 16 people at any one time. To enable varying configurations of single/double/family there are nine rooms, ranging from twin and double with one interconnecting family room which sleeps up to five people. Each room has an ensuite. There is a communal living and dining area and an adjoining open kitchen with facilities to cater for 16 guests. There is also a laundry and storeroom with basic food and personal items.
Members have first preference to bookings but guests are very welcome. A referral from a member is required.
